Delegation from Düsseldorf at CPM in Moscow
The biggest ordering platform for the Russian and Eastern European fashion market closed with success on September 7, 2018. Approximately 21,500 specialist visitors travelled from Europe, Russia, and the Eurasian Economic Union to the exhibition grounds 'Expocentre' in Moscow for the 31st edition of CPM. This is a slight decrease in visitor numbers compared to the 30th edition in February.
However, the 31st CPM remains a success for the organisers: "Slight variations are common for the Russian market and do not worrying. [...] Therefore , the conclusion is very positive", says Thomas Stenzel, Managing Director OOO 'Messe Düsseldorf Moscow'. "Overall, the textile clothing market in Russia is experiencing a positive trends upwards. Since the previous year, retail is recording clearly rising sales again, of more than 10 per cent. In the ongoing year 2018, the values will probably even gain some percentage compared to the previous year."
With around 1,300 collections by 750 exhibitioners, CPM is showing the variety of the international fashion industry. Furthermore, the different national representations were strong this time. Especially Düsseldorf was at the centre of attention. Head Mayor Thomas Geisel joined Thomas Stenzel in opening the fashion trade fair Collection Premiere Moscow on September 4. "CPM in Moscow offers the ideal platform to campaign for the fashion location Düsseldorf in Russia", says Head Mayor Geisel. "With the end of recession, the fashion market in Russia is representing itself more positive again for European distributors. The growth of export numbers is telling a friendly story. And this is also the result of the Messe Düsseldorf Moscow's excellent work."
