Gallery Shoes closes its third edition with positive response

The third edition of Gallery Shoes was a success, summarises Ulrike Kähler, Managing Director Igedo Company and Project Director of Gallery & Galley Shoes. "We are closing par value to the previous edition in March 2018 and are taking a positive stock concerning the platform's acceptance as a location for well-being."

With approximately 9,800 visitors, of which a quarter has come from the international fashion industry, Gallery Shoes was very well visited. More than 500 brands from Germany and abroad have presented their collections on the shoe trade fair. The extension by a new hall for the premium department and the Fashion Lifestyle Corner, which celebrated its premiere, were very well received. The international brand Marc Cain was the main partner on the new runway of Areal Böhler. Norbert Lock, Managing Director Wholesale and Retail, is convinced of the concept: "The combination of the Fashion Lifestyle Corner and runway was a complete success. [...] Presenting shoes and fashion in this form is a further, highly professional asset of this platform."

The trade fair organisers as well as representatives of the Bundesverband des Deutschen Schuheinzelhandels, BDSE, were satisfied with the par value closure. "Gallery Shoes is attracting the middle and high class retailers that are offering curated ranges as well and is feeling at home in this work atmosphere", says Siegfried Jacobs, Managing Director BDSE. Carl-August Seibel, Chairman of the Bundesverband der Schuh- und Lederwarenindustrie, HDS/L, is also satisfied with the third edition: "Retailers are looking for news and stories around the product. [...] Despite all the subjects of digitisation, we also need personal encounters, emotions, the smell of shoes and the feel of the materials. The Internet cannot offer this, only a trade fair like the Gallery Shoes and the personal contact can offer this."

"Our heartfelt thanks go to the whole industry. Last year, we created something grand. The industry believed in us. With the third edition we crossed a magical threshold for trade fairs. But Gallery Shoes not only reached this threshold: With a return quote of 98% we were fully booked again. This is brilliant and almost unique. We are working hard at keeping this success going", concludes Ulrike Kähler.
